Welcome to Oli Watkins' Home Page I am a research student in the Cambridge University Department of Engineering control group. My topic of reseach is conflict detection in air traffic control. With one more year to go I might just finish... Obviously there more to living in Cambridge than spending endless hours in the lab. My spare (and not so spare) time is occupied with lots of rowing, and also quite a bit of coaching. I tend to be a bit more of a recreational rower these days, but the crews I'm coaching are fairly good and could really be going somewhere. The PhD program is fairly generous with time off, so it seems only sensible to take plenty of holidays to exotic destinations. I also seem to have to go to a few places on business. Travel destinations this year include the Alps, Paris, Vietnam and Cambodia, Tuscany, Taiwan, Greece, and of course Hawaii . I might top all this off with another visit to the alps for Christmas. It's a hard life and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. |
