A mechanical network approach to performance capabilities of passive suspensions
This chapter investigates the performance capabilities of passive
suspensions as a function of the number and type of components used,
as well as their parameters values. Using well-known analogies
between electrical and mechanical networks, the full freedom
available for a one-port suspension network involving one or two
dampers and an arbitrary number of springs and levers is
determined. A numerical example of the one- and two-damper
cases is considered in the context of a quarter-car suspension model.}
