Workshops were held in various places on our world, and organized from different persons and institutions. International stability refers to conditions in which nations, in an interdependent fashion, interact with one another in ways which permit gradual changes with time in a mutually acceptable scale and direction. This development under stable conditions is considered with respect to social, political, ecological, national and international, regional and global aspects. This workshop should extend the ideas if IFAC events on international stability in Laxenburg 1983, Cleveland 1986, Budapest 1989, and Toronto 1992. The goal should be the beneficial application of systems engineering methods but scientists from other fields as political science, economics, social science, and international studies are cordially invited to come and present papers and other ideas. TOPICS 0 Methodological analysis 0 Investigation of development: stability, sustainable development 0 Modelling of stability 0 Application of control principles to International Stability 0 East/West/ North/South relationships 0 International policy co-ordination 0 Regional development: global impact 0 Global development: regional impact 0 Demographic processes 0 Cultural and Political Aspects in International Stability 0 Educational and Behavioural Aspects 0 Negotiation and Mediation in Conflict 0 The new world order 0 Applicability of the systems concept LANGUAGE English will be the official language. IFAC WORKSHOP - CALL FOR PAPERS Contributions on the topics mentioned are welcome. A hardcopy of the abstract (approximately 400 words in English) should be received not later than April 1st, 1995. Electronic submissions of the abstracts (postscript or ACSII files) should be mailed to: swiis@ihrt1.ihrt.tuwien.ac.at The conference language will be English. Authors of accepted abstracts will be given further instructions for the preparation of camera ready papers to be included in the conference postprints. IMPORTANT DEADLINES Submission of abstracts: April 1, 1995 Notification of acceptance: June 15, 1995 Submission of full papers: August 15, 1995 COPYRIGHT The material submitted for presentation at an IFAC meeting (symposium, conference, workshop) must be original, not published or being considered elsewhere. All papers accepted for presentation will appear in the Preprints of the meeting and will be distributed to the participants. Papers duly presented will be archived and offered for sale, in the form of Postprint volumes, by Elsevier Science Ltd., Oxford, UK. The presented papers will be further screened for possible publication in the IFAC journals Automatica and Control Engineering Practice, or in other, IFAC affiliated journals. The abstracts of all presented papers will also appear in Control Engineering Practice. Copyright in material presented at an IFAC meeting is held by IFAC. Authors will be sent a copyright transfer form. Automatica, Control Engineering Practice and, after these, IFAC affiliated journals have priority access to all presented contributions. However, if the author is not contacted by an editor of these journals, within three months after the meeting, he/she is free to re-submit the material for publication elsewhere. In this case, the paper must carry a reference to the IFAC meeting where it was originally presented. Authors in any doubt should consult the detailed IFAC Copyright conditions available from the IFAC Secretariat.
