First Announcement and Call for Papers Conference on Stochastic Differential and Differentia Equations Gyor, Hungary August 21-24, 1996 Members of the Bernoulli Society and other interested scientists are cordially invited to participate in the Conference. ORGANIZATION Organized by Eotvos Lorand University, Budapest Kossuth Lajos University, Debrecen Sponsored by Hungarian Regional Affiliate of the Bernoulli Society Co-sponsored by International Executive Committee of the Bernoulli Society European Regional Committee of the Bernoulli Society A joint International Programme Committee and a Hungarian National Organizing Committee have been formed. AIMS AND SCOPE This Conference on Stochastic Differential and Differentia Equations is a satellite event to the 4th World Congress of the Bernoulli Society, (to be held from 26 to 31 August, 1996 in Vienna). The conference is organized to discuss, in two parallel sessions, various problems of discrete and continuous time parameter ARMA processes on the one hand and, on the other, stochastic differential equations, with special emphasis on stochastic partial differential equations (SPDE) and related random fields. CONTRIBUTIONS Contributed papers (15 minutes each) may, if accepted, be read at one of the two sessions of the Conference. The Programme Committee will consider contributed papers for acceptance on the basis of the abstracts and will notify the author. Prospective authors are invited to submit two copies of a max. two page abstract to the Conference Secretariat. The abstract should be headed with the paper title in capital letters, centered and not underlined. Allow a double spacing between the title and the name(s) of author(s) and the full mailing address (with e-mail and fax number) of the contact author, then again doble spacing between the address and the text. Two camera ready copies with wide margins should be sent to the conference secretariat, at the address below. The Budapest-Vienna highway and railway passes by providing excellent connection to both capitals, Vienna and Budapest. Buses and trains running practically hourly daytime, (approx. one, one and a half hour ride), but late night connection (from 8 PM to 6 AM) is not that frequent. Fares are lower from and to Budapest (3-4 USD). Special bus transportation to the main World Congress site in Vienna will also be provided for very moderate charge (5-8 USD) after the conference. CLIMATE In the last decade of August the weather in Hungary is usually dry and moderately hot but occasional showers and thunderstorms are not exceptional. The typical daily high temperature is about 45-48C, that is 97-123F. ACCOMMODATION Hotels of various categories (single room 57-33 USD, double room 30-18 USD/person/day) as well as low price dormitories (double room 10-8 USD/person/day) are available near the campus. (All the prices are subjects to changes.) REGISTRATION FEE We plan the early registration fee (until June 15 1996) to be 70 USD, with fee reduction available for participants from developing countries or from Eastern and Central Europe.
