| Background |
Frank received a Masters degree (MEng, 2003) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College, London. During his studies he gained work experience in industry and research projects at the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company, Robert Bosch Gmbh and the University of Delaware. He submitted his PhD in Control Engineering in September 2007 under the supervision of Prof. Malcolm Smith in the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge.
During his time in Cambridge, he was also organiser of the inaugural Oxford-Cambridge Channel Race (2005, The Cambridge Channel Challenge) and captain of the St John's College Graduate Marathon Team, (D. Morphet, St John's College, Cambridge: Excellence and Diversity, Third Millennium Publishing, 2007, p.176,179). |
