Background
I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering at the School of Electrical and Information Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand in December 2002.

I followed this with a Masters of Science in Engineering in the same school, which I submitted in September 2003, and graduated in May 2004. My research topic was an atutomated image processing method to diagnosis malaria on thin blood smears.

Since October 2003 I have been in the Control Group at the University of Cambridge.

I am a member of St John's College, and take part in a variety of activities including tennis for Cambridge University Lawn Tennis Club (Grasshopper's varsity match 2004), real tennis at the Cambridge University Real Tennis Club, and rowing for the Lady Margaret Boat Club. I also play tennis for the college and football for the SBR (graduate) side.

Research Overview
My research is in the field of systems biology. I am looking at genetic regulatory networks, particularly the lac-operon in E.coli. This involves considering deterministic and stochastic modelling strategies, and then coming up with a sensible model that can predict the experimental observations that have been made on this system.
