Flexible Tools for Control, Simulation, and Real-Time Implementation

Dr Jeannie Falcon (Senior Engineer, Control and Simulation National Instruments)

Abstract

National Instruments has developed a suite of software tools which provide control design, system identification, and simulation capabilities. Real-time microprocessor and field programmable gate array (FPGA) combinations are utilized to provide flexible hardware platforms for control implementation. LabVIEW, a graphical programming environment serves to unify the development across all platforms. In this talk, the software and hardware technology will be presented along with demonstrations. Several university teaching and research projects will also be discussed.
