Abstract

This paper applies a novel mechatronic network system to vehicle suspension control. The proposed mechatronic system consists of a ball-screw inerter and permanent magnet electric machinery (PMEM), such that the system impedance can be realized through a combination of mechanical and electrical networks. Then we apply LMI methods for the optimization of system performance, and use newly-developed network synthesis methods to realize the obtained optimal transfer functions. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the mechatronic networks.
